What you will find: Teff is the most important ingredient in Ethiopian cooking. It is one of the world’s oldest grains, it is gluten-free and rich in minerals, making it perfect for many dishes. One such specialty is injera, the national dish of Ethiopia, a flatbread that they at Abyssinia Restaurant serve with every meal. Moreover, Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee and here you can experience it with them through a traditional coffee ceremony, where the unique aromas of lemon and flowers will inspire you. Several times a day the people of Ethiopia meet with family or friends to enjoy a coffee ceremony – known as a Buna – and you can enjoy one too. What do we recommend? Ethiopian style lamb roasted with onions, tomatoes and peppers, as main courses Dorowat (chicken with spicy sauce, egg and home-made cheese), Kifto (beef chops with green cabbage) and Buticha (Ethiopian cold chickpeas with olives and tomatoes).

* if you are looking for other African flavors, do not hesitate and go to Savanna, a really well known South African restaurant close to Sendliger Tor, where you can have Crocodile fillet, Namibian beef fillet, Black tiger prawns, zebra and more.
